ડો. વિકાસ જૈન સૌરાષ્ટ્ર ના પ્રતિષ્ઠિત ઈન્ટરવેન્શનલ રેડિયોલોજિસ્ટ છે અને ઈન્ટરવેન્શનલ રેડિયોલોજીમાં 12 વર્ષથી વધારે અનુભવ ધરાવે છે. તેમનો ધ્યેય વ્યક્તિગત રીતે દર્દીઓનાં આરોગ્યની સંભાળ પૂરી પાડવાનો તથા તાજેતરની મેડિકલ એડવાન્સિસ સાથે તેને ક્લિનિકલ પ્રેક્ટિસમાં મૂકી ને દર્દીઓ અને સમાજ પ્રત્યેની પ્રતિબદ્ધતા નો છે. ડો. વિકાસ જૈન તેના દર્દીઓને સતત સારવાર ના સારા પરિણામો પહોંચાડવામાં સક્ષમ છે.

ડો. વિકાસ જૈન એ પ્રતિષ્ઠિત PGIMER, ચંદીગઢમાંથી ન્યુરો રેડિયોલોજી અને ઇન્ટરવેન્શન (DM) માં તાલીમ લીધી છે. હાલમાં તેઓ એન. એમ. વિરાણી વોકહાર્ટ હોસ્પિટલ, રાજકોટમાં 8 વર્ષથી વધુ સમયથી કન્સલ્ટન્ટ ઇન્ટરવેન્શનલ રેડિયોલોજિસ્ટ તરીકે કાર્યરત છે.

ઈન્ટરવેન્શનલ રેડિયોલોજી, એક તબીબી પેટા- શાખા છે જેમાં મિનિમલી ઈન્વેસિવ ડાયગ્નોસ્ટિક અને વેસ્ક્યુલર ડિસઓર્ડર તથા ગાંઠો માટે ની સારવાર રેડિયોલોજીકલ માર્ગદર્શન હેઠળ કરવામાં આવે છે. જેમ કાર્ડિયોલોજિસ્ટ દ્વારા હાથ ધરવામાં આવતી હૃદયની સારવાર, જેવી કે એન્જીયોપ્લાસ્ટી અથવા હૃદયની ધમનીઓમાં ના અવરોધ ને દુર કરવા માટે સ્ટેન્ટ બેસાડે છે તેની સાથે આ સારવાર ની સરખામણી કરી શકાય છે.

આ પ્રક્રિયાઓમાં, પગ (જંઘામૂળ) અથવા કાંડાની ધમનીમાં નાના પિન હોલ ( પંચર દ્વારા ) (<5mm ) દ્વારા, એક નાનું કેથેટર (ટ્યુબ) રક્ત વાહિનીની અંદર દાખલ કરવામાં આવે છે. એકવાર ઇચ્છિત જગ્યા પર પહોંચી ગયા પછી નિદાન અને ઉપ્ચારાત્મક પ્રક્રિયાઓ કરવામાં આવે છે જેમાં ધમની ને ખોલવું અથવા બંધ કરવાની પ્રક્રિયા (પ્રોસીજેર) હોઈ શકે છે. સમગ્ર પ્રક્રિયા (પ્રોસીજર) એક્સ-રે (રેડિયોલોજિકલ) માર્ગદર્શન હેઠળ કરવામાં આવે છે અને તેથી તેને ઇન્ટરવેન્શનલ રેડિયોલોજી નામ આપવામાં આવ્યું છે.

આ પ્રક્રિયાઓ દર્દીની સારવાર પર જબરદસ્ત પ્રભાવ ધરાવે છે. મિનિમલી ઈન્વેસીવ હોવાને કારણે ટૂંકા સમય માં રીકવરી અને હોસ્પિટલમાં રોકાણ પણ ઓછું, ઓછા કોમ્પ્લીકેશન, સારું પરિણામ, શરીર ની આસપાસના પેશીઓને પણ ઓછી ઈજા. તે ઘણા રોગો માટે ઉપચાર પ્રદાન કરે છે જેનો ભૂતકાળમાં ઉપચાર થઈ શકતો ન હતો. ઈન્ટરવેન્શન રેડિયોલોજી એ સ્ટ્રોક, એન્યુરિઝમ્સ, ધમનીની ખોડખાંપણ, પેરિફેરલ વેસ્ક્યુલર ડિસીઝ, લીવરના રોગો, આંતરિક રક્તસ્રાવ, વેરિકોઝ વેઇન્સ વગેરેની સારવારમાં ક્રાંતિ લાવી છે.

Dr. Vikash Jain is a reputed and distinguished Interventional Radiologist in the Saurashtra Region and has more than 11 years of experience in Interventional radiology. His goal is to provide personalized state of art health care to patients. Being abreast with recent medical advances and translate it to clinical practice is a commitment towards patients and society. He has been able to deliver consistent results to his patients.

Dr. Vikash Jain has done his training in Neuroradiology and Intervention (DM) from the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh. He is currently working as Consultant Interventional Radiologist in N.M Virani Wockhardt hospital, Rajkot for more than 7 years.

Interventional Radiology, is a medical sub-specialty in which minimally invasive diagnostic and intervention procedures for vascular disorders and tumours are performed under radiological guidance. Analogy can be derived with treatment carried by Cardiologist in heart, such as angioplasty or stent placement for blockage in heart arteries.

In these procedures, through a small (<5mm) incision in leg (groin) or wrist artery, a small catheter (tube) is navigated over a wire within the blood vessel. Once the desired site is reached diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed which may involve opening and closing of the vessel. Entire process is done under X-ray (radiological) guidance and thus the name Interventional radiology.

These procedures have tremendous influence on patient’s outcome. Being minimally invasive it ensures shorter recovery time and hospital stay, fewer complications, better outcome, minimal injury to surrounding tissues. It has provided therapy for many diseases which can’t be treated in past. It has revolutionised treatment of Stroke, Aneurysms, Arteriovenous malformation, Peripheral vascular disease, Liver diseases, Internal bleeding, Varicose veins etc.

Professional experience and expertise

Dr Vikash Jain has performed independently more than 300 cases of complex Neurovascular Intervention. He is the 1st doctor of Saurashtra and Kutch to perform Aneurysm coiling, Flow divertor, Mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke, AVM embolization, Intracranial angioplasty, dural venous sinus stenting and Spinal AVM embolization.
He is the pioneer of Neuroavascular Intervention and other Interventional radiology procedures in this region.
He performs all sorts of difficult peripheral revascularization procedures like Peripheral angioplasties & thrombolysis, Atherectomy, pedal arch revascularization etc.
One of the few Interventional Doctors in India to perform complex Neurovascular Intervention (Flow divertors), Complex Hepatic intervention (TIPSS, DIPSS) and Aortic Interventions (EVAR and TEVAR).
