Haemorrhoids & Haemorrhoidal Artery Embolization

What are Haemorrhoids?

  • Haemorrhoids (also called piles) are swollen blood vessels inside the rectum or around      the anus.
  • They are common, especially in adults.

Haemorrhoidal Artery Embolization (HAE)

What is HAE ?

  • A modern, minimally invasive treatment for bleeding haemorrhoids.
  • Performed by an Interventional Radiologist.
  • Uses a tiny catheter inserted through the wrist or groin artery to block the blood supply feeding the haemorrhoids.
  • This reduces swelling, bleeding, and discomfort.
